4/12/08 Earth Day Sustainability Fair 12-3 PM, Richmond Vermont, Library 4/20/08 Earth Week Festival, St. Michael's College Colchester, VT Green Up SMC, the student environmental club at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont will be hosting its annual Earth Week celebration on Sunday, April 20th, 12-6 p.m. The event will include local bands, local food, and various speakers on the environmental front. A highlight of the day will be a presentation of a student-based initiative to ban the use of plastic bags in the campus bookstore and the local community. 4/22/08 The Burlington 10% Challenge Earth Day Car Show Burlington, VT Earth Day every year. Alternative fuel and efficient vehicles are all on display on the Church Street Mall. The Solar Bus will be there with all the solar displays and demonstrations. The Solar Bus store will be open (see our online store for the products that will be available for sale). This is a great event in the spring. People are always happy it's getting warm again and summer is coming. This year, being a weekday, the event is a little shorter, during lunch hour from 11am to 1pm. 7/31 - 8/3 The Gathering of the Vibes Bridgeport, CT What can we say? The Gathering of the Vibes is probably the biggest and funnest summer music fesival in the Northeast, and it's right on the beach in Connecticut. The Solar Bus is proud to be a part of the Vibes. We are normally set up in the "Non-Profit Village." At "The Vibes," the Solar Bus does many things including: Free charging of cell phones, laptop, and flashlight batteries, on solar energy. This is a camping event with no electricity supplied, so many people need to charge up these devices. The Solar Bus makes it an educational and environmental experience. Just bring your item to be charged up and we'll do it on solar, even at night. Be sure to bring your charger too. Powering the lights for the Non-profit village with solar energy Baking solar cookies The Solar Bus Store is open. Most items you can see in our online store are available. Many solar powered displays, whenever the sun is shining. You'll see solar powered robot frogs and grasshoppers jumping around, a mini solar car, solar fans, ... A scheduled "Solar 101" seminar in the mornings. Weather permitting, at night we show solar powered movies. This year we're planning a great selection of fun and interesting films.
