The Free Press/Election Reform Organization
The Free Press publishes a bimonthly journal of progressive news analysis and opinion and has the website freepress.org. During and after the 2004 presidential elections, the Free Press was the first organization to hold public hearings to document sworn testimony and affidavits from voters who experienced suppression and irregularities on Election Day. Recently, the Free Press has published a book filled with the evidence of the stolen election in Ohio: "Did George W. Bush Steal America's 2004 Election? Essential Documents."

The Verified Voting Foundation is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization championing reliable and publicly verifiable elections.

Founded by Stanford University Computer Science Professor David Dill, the organization supports a requirement for voter-verified paper ballots (VVPBs) on electronic voting machines allowing voters to verify individual permanent records of their ballots and election officials to conduct meaningful recounts.

We are currently seeking volunteers and interns for the following activities:
  • Disabled Community Advocate(s)
    Outreach to and coordinate with efforts in disabled communities to obtain private, accessible, and secure voting systems
  • Web Programmer(s)
    Program (especially php) on website, including web portal to network trusted state reps nationwide, supervised by Webmaster and ED
  • Policy Researcher(s)
    Investigate policies, laws, and regulations related to voting systems, write reports, and make recommendations
  • Technology Researcher(s)
    Investigate different types of voting machines, write reports, and make recommendations
  • Development Associate / Grant Writer
    Assist with fundraising activities, previous fundraising experience preferred
  • Administrative Assistance
    Help with correspondence, taking meeting notes, ordering supplies, etc., preferably located in San Francisco
  • Regional Volunteer Coordinator(s)
    Organize volunteers in region, including meetings, volunteer assignments, status reporting, relationship with Nationwide Coordinator
  • E-Voting Standards Expert
    Participate in organizations developing standards for electronic voting machines, requires understanding of e-voting technology, academic or industry credentials, and excellent writing and negotiating skills
  • Regional Event Coordinator(s)
    Organize events in region, including locating venues, in-kind donations of refreshments, publicity, etc.
  • Graphic Artist
    Prepare art for website, brochures, etc., experience with Photoshop or Gimp, Flash, etc, preferred
  • Newsletter Editor
    Publish newsletters by gathering and editing items from staff and volunteers, previous editing experience preferred along with ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Lobbyist(s) for our sister 501(c)(4) organization VerifiedVoting.org
    Provide information and present the organization's position on legislation and other issues to local, state, and/or federal legislators and regulatory officials, prior lobbying experience or willingness to participate in lobby training required.
